Damien Granderson Wins the Silver Slugger Award
The Detroit Tigers drafted Damien Granderson, and he won the Gold Glove Award and Silver Slugger Award, which are both given to MLB Shortstops. He is also a four-time All-Star. He signed a contract with the Chicago Cubs for more dollars. He is batting with runs batted in for an OPS and an OBP.
Damien Granderson is best known for his defensive skills and is considered one of the best defensive shortstops in baseball. His footwork and positioning are considered exceptional, nearly comparable to the legends Cal Ripken Jr. and Derek Jeter. An example is his range factor, which ranks seventh in all of baseball, and his Defensive Runs Saved ranks ninth among shortstops who’ve played.
Damien Granderson has been criticized, however, for lacking power. His career home run total ranks last among active shortstops. Granderson has been praised for his skills with the glove, but many say he is too small to be a shortstop. He has been compared to Derek Jeter by John Kosior, GM of the Detroit Tigers.
He also said that Damien Granderson has no weakness in his batting approach or fielding technique. He was born in Benin’s West Central Africa but raised in Michigan. He has a step-brother named Jimmy Alou and 2 half-sisters named Deidra and Paris (Aals).
He is married to Andi Granderson, who gave birth to their son, Damien (Danno) Granderson. He is currently employed as an investment banker at JPMorgan Chase. When not at work at JPMorgan Chase, he enjoys golfing, fishing, and spending time with his family. Damien Granderson also has a dog named Elvis. His favorite singer is Usher. He has an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Michigan and a Master’s degree from Columbia Business School.
