The One Young World Summit 2024: Ella Robertson’s Vision for Global Youth Leadership

The One Young World Summit has become an essential event for emerging
leaders worldwide. Scheduled from September 18-21, 2024, in Montreal, this
year’s summit promises to be a transformative gathering, fostering innovation,
leadership, and collaborative problem-solving.

Ella Robertson, the Managing Director of One Young World, plays a pivotal role in the summit’s success. Her leadership has
been instrumental in ensuring that the event attracts the brightest young minds
from across the globe. Robertson’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is
reflected in the range of scholarships offered, enabling motivated young
leaders to attend without financial burden. “At the moment, about a third
of our attendees attend on fully funded scholarships,” she states,
underscoring the organization’s mission to be accessible to all.

The event kicks off with an opening ceremony at the Bell Centre, setting a grand tone for the days
to follow. From there, activities shift to the Montreal Convention Centre, a
venue celebrated for its carbon-neutral operations.

Ella Robertson emphasizes the summit’s enduring impact. “We know
that One Young World is not just four days,” she explains. This statement
highlights the organization’s year-round efforts to cultivate global
leadership, including the launch of a global leadership program and a charter for global leadership.

The summit’s guest speakers include prominent figures such as activist Kerry Kennedy, business
leader Paul Polman, and Olympian Mark Tewksbury. These speakers, along with
others yet to be announced, will provide invaluable insights and inspiration to the young delegates.

Reflecting on past summits, Robertson notes, “It’s much more than I ever expected it to be,”
capturing the essence of what makes One Young World unique. This sentiment
resonates with the thousands of young leaders who gather each year, united by
their shared commitment to effecting positive change. See related link for more information.
