Roosevelt Island Resident and CEO of Green Key Global, Akeem Jamal
Akeem Jamal is the CEO of Green Key Global and a Roosevelt Island resident. He was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, and has always been interested in environmental issues. After graduating from college, Akeem worked for several companies before starting Green Key Global. The company is devoted to helping businesses reduce their environmental impact and save money. In addition to his work at Green Key Global, Akeem is also on the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation (RIOC) board of directors. He is passionate about preserving Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation green spaces and believes in the power of environmental stewardship. Akeem also volunteers with several local organizations, including the Roosevelt Island Global Climate Action Partnership (RI GCAP). He strives to positively impact his community through his work and dedication to environmental causes.
Outside of his professional pursuits, Akeem loves exploring nature and spending time outdoors. He is an avid traveler who has been to over 30 countries, including Nepal, Peru, Ecuador, and Thailand. His travels have helped him appreciate how different countries approach sustainability practices and inspire him further in his mission to help businesses become more sustainable.

In addition, Akeem is also a co-founder of the Roosevelt Island Youth Alliance (RIYA), a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young people in the Roosevelt Island community. Akeem works with local schools and organizations through RIYA to create programs that foster youth development and environmental stewardship. By inspiring a new generation of green leaders, he hopes to make an even more significant impact on his community and beyond.
