 Marwan Kheireddine’s Detailed Profile

Marwan worked in the Lebanese Government for three years as the state minister. He is now the General Manager and Chairperson of a bank called Al Mawarid and he has held different positions since 1992. As the minister, Kheireddine was a member of over 20 committees because he took up a crucial role in fiscal, financial, and economic matters. Marwan was deeply involved in the establishment of an action plan on economic and social aspects to deal with some challenges troubling Lebanon.

Kheireddine also oversaw a committee that upgrades the Lebanese business environment. He proposes a contemporary, service-driven investment law. Marwan also served at other committees handling, budgetary issues, private-public partnerships, and the remuneration structure. Other committees focus on economic and social advancement.

Marwan Kheireddine uses his banking record and history to rally some endorsements for putting in place BDL policies that safeguarded the Lebanese banking industry. He also strengthened its following of the global norms and laws. Marwan also helped in drafting electronic signatures, cash limitations, secured lending, anti-laundering, and capital markets regulations.

Kheireddine believes in leveraging economic growth via private sector empowerment. He also played a role in supporting the development of BDL Circular 331. This law focused on promoting tenable economic advancement by motivating and financing business people. The circular creates new opportunities by allowing financial organizations to stake more in tech ventures, venture capital, and incubators.

Marwan Kheireddine is a proven entrepreneur who has initiated some businesses across different industries. Virgin Megastores was one of those franchises based in Saudi Arabia and Lebanon. For five years towards the beginning of the 21st century, Kheireddine worked in the local stock exchange in the financial planning capacity to the chairperson.
