John Hailer is the 1251 Asset Management president, a position he has held since 2017. 1251 Asset Management is a 1251 Capital Group Inc. subsidiary located in Boston. It is a holding company dedicated to cultivating long-term business value and offering shareholders long-term returns.

Under Hailer’s management, 1251 Asset management has adopted and maintained an overarching investment focus to help accelerate positive change.

Before his position in the firm, he was the Chief Executive Officer and president at Natixis Global Asset Management in Asia and the Americans. The firm is committed to sustainable finance and developing multifaceted ESG offerings for its wide array of clients.

He held his position for over 18 years and focused on the firm’s asset management affiliates across Asia and the United States, plus global distribution strategies.

Before retiring from the organization in 2017, Exec at Natixis John Hailer helped the company reposition itself as one of the best global solution providers. He also helped grow it into one of the biggest asset managers globally, with a portfolio of nearly $1 trillion of assets. Under his leadership, Barron’s ranked it as the top Mutual Family in 2013 and 2016.

Before joining Natixis Global Asset Management, John Hailer had gained extensive experience in the industry of financial services.

One of his earlier roles was at Fidelity Investment Institutional Services Company. He focused on developing new businesses in North and Latin America in the firm. He also worked as a retail business director at Putnam Investments.

This experience, plus his education from Wisconsin’s Beloit College, made him a sought-after leader and source of information for investments, financial services, and other asset management facets.

John Hailer has achieved a lot of success in his career, earning him several awards and honors. The Beloit College Alumni Association gave him the Distinguished Service Citation in January 2013 for his achievements at Natixis Global Asset Management. The Boston Business Journal also gave him the Most Admired CEO award in January 2014.

In addition to his career and achievements, John Hailer is often involved in certain philanthropic ventures. He is a board member of numerous charity organizations, including local non-profit organizations that work towards bettering people’s lives in his Boston hometown.
