Kelcy Warren, the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Energy Transfer, is a name synonymous
with Dallas’s energy industry. His dynamic leadership has positioned the energy
giant as a key player in the sector. 

Born in White Oak, Texas, Warren completed his engineering degree at the University of Texas at
Arlington before setting his sights on the energy industry. He initially
started his career at Lone Star Gas Company, and in 1996, he co-founded Energy
Transfer. Choosing Dallas as the company’s home base, Warren has since overseen
its growth into an industry powerhouse. 

Today, Energy Transfer operates nearly 120,000 miles of pipelines, and has storage capacity
for approximately 235 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas. Moreover, it
also handles nearly 70 million barrels per day of natural gas liquids, making
it a linchpin in the energy sector, both locally and nationally. 

But Warren’s work extends beyond Energy Transfer. Kelcy Warren’s philanthropic endeavors reflect his commitment to the Dallas
community. For instance, he has been instrumental in supporting various local
educational institutions and children’s organizations. His generous donation to
the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation allowed for the establishment of Klyde
Warren Park, named in honor of his son. 

Recently, Energy Transfer made headlines by announcing a sponsorship deal with
Major League Baseball’s Texas Rangers. Not a new partnership, Energy Transfer
has been sponsoring the team’s West Dallas Youth Academy since 2018. This
latest sponsorship, however, presents an opportunity to expand the company’s
marketing presence.
