After graduating from Georgetown University in 2007 with a bachelor’s of science degree in finance, Nathaniel Ru teamed up with two fellow graduates: Jonathan Neman and Nicolas Jammet to create Sweetgreen.

Seeking to develop and build a company that was centered around the idea that fast-food could be made from fresh produce, sustainable resources, and at reasonable costs Ru and his partners took a leap. Nathaniel Ru’s vision has now begun to make its impact in cities such as New York, California, Chicago, and Boston.

Over the past ten years Sweetgreen has developed a new model for fast-food dining, one that involves being able to contribute to a sustainable and ethical approach to eating at a restaurant. The three co-founders even had the foresight to implement an app for Sweetgreen so that customers wouldn’t have to wait in long lines; which only goes to show how popular this health conscious restaurant has become in various neighborhoods.

Sweetgreen is a restaurant chain that has grown rapidly over the last ten years by doing what no fast-food chain has done before. The philosophy behind the restaurant was to create a form of fresh and genuinely healthy fast-food.

The locally grown ingredients comprised mainly of fruits and vegetables are all delivered and freshly cut the same day. Even the dressings are all freshly made from scratch each day. Sweetgreen is cooking up a reputation that’s sure to increase as more individuals across America become more health conscious and aware of the importance of having sustainable resources.

By giving people in various cities the opportunity to choose truly healthier eating options, Sweetgreen is providing a service no corporate fast-food chain has done before in the U.S.
