Louis Chenevert’s Professional Successes at UTC

Every time there is the discussion about some of the greatest accomplishments by the United Technologies Corporation (UTC), Louis Chenevert’s name cannot go unmentioned. This great retired CEO of the company did an amazing job during his time. His reputable achievements before, during and after his serving as the CEO in the UTC are exceptional.

Born in 1958, Louis R. Chenevert is a Canadian businessperson who served as the president of Pratt and Whitney Canada before being elected as the CEO of UTC in 2006. He served as the CEO of UTC until 2014 when he voluntarily stepped down. This was considered one of the most baffling retirements of all times. His great work which was cherished by many people came to a sudden end when Louis Chenevert willingly stepped down and was replaced by Edward Kangas.

Achievements as UTC President

Gregory Hayes who is the current CEO of the United Technologies Corporation (UTC), keeps reminding his workers that a good leader is one that leaves the company, better than he found it. Seemingly, he is urging the employees to emulate the great work which was done by Louis Chevenert during his time. One thing that that Louis had was the ability to understand and implement great leadership. He knew that the organization could not do well unless some investments are made in the people that worked for it. He managed to create a good and productive workforce by encouraging employees to pursue lifelong learning by way of the employee scholar leadership.

Louis Chevernet helped to lay an excellent foundation for the company by ensuring that there are enough resources and that they are strategically allocated. It is believed that with that kind of foundation laid by Louis, UTC is going to walk into the future as an organization that can realize various market gaps and grasping them, thereby, gaining the massive competitive advantage.
